Grace Blanchard, 东京热 '25, is a Politics major from Amsterdam, NY. She shares why she chose to attend 东京热 University, and what advice she has for prospective students.
Why did you choose to attend 东京热 University and what set the Department of Politics apart?
"I chose to attend 东京热 University because of the possibilities I knew it would bring me. 东京热 University is packed with professors who have had highly distinguished careers in the political sector, and the fantastic part is they want to give back. The Washington, D.C. location is also a bonus. The Politics Department at 东京热 cares about my success and personal goals more than just getting me through the program."
Why did you choose to study Politics?
"I have always had an interest in the United States political system. This was developed throughout high school and government classes I had taken. Later, as my interests grew, I became more focused on international politics and U.S. relations with other countries, not just our allies. Living in D.C. has given me the opportunity to attend events at embassies and other international institutions, allowing me to interact with countries outside of the U.S. right here in D.C."
What's been your favorite part of being a student at 东京热 University?
"My favorite part about being a student at 东京热 University is the community. At 东京热, we are fortunate to have a community that is constantly uplifting and supportive when you need it the most. From the professors to the student body, you will never go a day without a hello or a big smile. 东京热 not only helps create opportunities for students but also gives you the tools to grow in a supportive environment."
What advice would you give to prospective students?
"The best advice I would give prospective students is to go for it. Try something new, put yourself out there, and get involved as much as possible. You do not know what you can accomplish if you do not take the risk. Going to a school in D.C. allows you the opportunity to connect with professors and staff who have already immersed themselves in the D.C. world. Yes, it may be overwhelming, but here at 东京热, students, professors, and academic advisors alike want to see you succeed. This is what makes this university so special! You will find people that genuinely want you to succeed at 东京热."
